Clyde

Hello everyone,

Hope you are having as much fun as Sheri and I are!  Been using our boat like crazy!  C15 has been empty most of the season on the weekends!

This year’s Family Dayexceeded all expectations, with one of the largest turnouts in recent years. The energy, camaraderie, and joy felt throughout the day captured the very spirit of our club. From the snapper tournament to the food, music, and activities, it was a celebration that highlighted what makes South Norwalk Boat Club so special. I extend my sincere gratitude to all who participated, volunteered, and contributed to making this event such a memorable occasion. Special thanks to James Peters and Maddie Ameerfor doing such a great job!  Nice to know I have turned over special events to some very capable people in our club. Off the charts good!

The Milford Rendezvouswas another highlight of the season, showcasing both our boating tradition and the bonds of friendship that unite our members.  Todd and Jen Yarnold crushed it for all three rendezvous this year.  Can’t thank them enough for all the laughs and memories created!  Whether on the water or ashore, these events were filled with laughter, storytelling, and the kind of fellowship that only boating can inspire.  Just be careful...Donnie takes pictures of everything!!!

Looking ahead, our Members' Outingis fast approaching. Details will be shared soon, but I encourage all members to join us for this day of community, relaxation, and enjoyment. It promises to be a fitting way to close out the season together. See James if you want to lend a hand.

And while the boating season may be nearing its conclusion, our calendar remains full and vibrant. We look forward to a series of events that will keep the South Norwalk Boat Club spirit alive throughout the colder months:

  • Roll Call Dinner– A long-standing tradition that brings our membership together in reflection and fellowship.
  • Country Line Dancing Night– A lively evening sure to get everyone on their feet.
  • The Return of Pasta Nights– Back by popular demand, these evenings will once again bring warmth and flavor to our clubhouse.
  • Board Elections– An important moment in our governance. I encourage all members to participate in shaping the future leadership of our club. December 1st!  My last day of being in charge!

The summer of 2025 has been one to remember, and I am proud of all that we have accomplished together. As we prepare to transition into the next season, let us carry forward the energy, commitment, and camaraderie that define our community.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement in making the South Norwalk Boat Club a place we are all proud to call home.

I am still planning trips for the fall!  Hopefully, I will see you out on the water sometime!
