Commodore’s Corner

What a summer it has been! The weather this season could not have been better for boating, and it was wonderful to see so many of you out on the water enjoying all that our Club and community have to offer. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the many events, gatherings, and activities that made this summer one to remember. With hauling starting up as we speak, the time is coming to put our babies away for the winter.  Very sad to say, we have enjoyed this summer so much.  Plans are in the works already for next summer’s travels. 

As we move into fall, the calendar remains full with exciting events and important dates for all members: Lots of things to keep us busy in the cooler months!

Great events are coming; please join us for some fun! As always, weekend entertainment every weekend!

·         Pasta Night – Tuesday, October 7th & Tuesday, November 4th

·         Country & Western Line Dancing – Tuesday, October 14th

·         Roll Call Dinner – Wednesday, November 12th

·         Fish Pool Dinner- Tuesday November 18th

·         Kids’ Christmas Party – Sunday, December 7th 11:30 AM

·         Adult Christmas Party – Sunday, December 7th at 4:00 PM

All that being said, we also need to elect a new Commodore and Board to keep us moving!  It is important to get involved here at the Club.  There is a lot to do to help us continue to be one of the best clubs around.  It does not just happen.  It takes you, our members, to help.  Please if you are interested, throw your names in the hat for the upcoming elections. 

·         Self Nominations – Monday, October 6th

·         Nominations from the Floor – Monday, November 3rd  and nominations close

·         Election Day – Monday, December 1st  Your new team is in place.

I do want to thank you for your support over the last few years. My term ends in December.  I could not have done it without all of our membership, and my heart is grateful for all this.  You have all helped to keep us heading in the right direction.  Now it’s time for a new leadership to get us further.  On behalf of the entire leadership team, I want to thank you again for your support, enthusiasm, and commitment to keeping the South Norwalk Boat Club such a strong and vibrant community. We look forward to seeing you at the club this fall!
