I hope you’re having a nice spring even though we have had maybe one weekend to boat! But I hear the fishing has been unreal, so happy for our fisherman! FISH-ON!!
All I can say is WOW! Have you viewed the new South Norwalk Boat Club website? www.southnorwalkboatclub.com launched on Friday at 10am and has had over 5000 pages views so far! Take a look if you have not, it is going to help us all communicate much better with all of our members! With new features like the calendar of events, online menus, real-time weather, the ability to see the ballroom schedule at your fingertips, you should be able to see what is going on at the club at your fingertips. I have to congratulate the website team on delivering the site a week ahead of schedule! Renato Tullio and Randy Blasio worked their fingers to the bone to make it happen with the support of Jonathan Bove, and Richie Vincent. It is so true when they say if you want something done, give it to a busy person. Captain Blasio and Tullio are just amazing! Give them a big thanks when you see them around the club.
We are coming up on another busy weekend at the club. With the return of the Clam Bake on Friday night under the tent and music by Bad Boy, followed up by our Commissioning of fleet and official opening of our boating season with the sounds of Dream’in, the weekend is jammed with things to do at our great Club. Even if you did not get tickets to the clam bake, feel free to come on down and grab a rum punch and dance. Please purchase your Commissioning Day tickets this week by Friday so we can plan for food. We will be shopping on Saturday. We are also in need of some help to set up, cook and clean up! Please email me if you are interested.
I must say, I am so proud of how much our captains are stepping up to make our Club great. The level of involvement to help us push our Club to be better is so encouraging to me, and I look forward to more and more captains helping us move this Club forward. The South Norwalk Boat Club is a cornerstone of Norwalk. We have to all stay proud of what we have and work hard to keep it as great as it has been these last 125 years. It’s up to all of us to do so. Be a proud member!
Fireworks night is right around the corner. Over 1000 people come down to the Club that night to enjoy the fireworks and comradery! We have music by Boondocks and the docks are just jamming. Ali will have food for purchase, but remember that you will have to sign in your guests.
Now let’s all say a prayer to stop the wind! Relentless wind! Be well, stay safe, and hope to see you at the Club soon!

PS. As many of you know, Sheri and I purchased a new boat! She is awesome! We plan on being out a lot more this year and hope to see you all on the water at some point. With 3 rendezvous, along with our weekly raft-ups, the new Other Woman does not plan on being at the dock much!
PSS. And this year, Sheri and I are celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary and being together for over 45 years... What a saint Sheri is. Sheri, thanks for all the love and memories...we have a lot more to look forward to!
